Policy paper - April 5, 2015 - According to the 2013 REACH ( Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) review, the regulation, in broad terms, is working and there is no need of a revision. The next implementation phase will be important for the fur sector as it will involve small- and medium-sized businesses not familiar with REACH. In that sense, Fur Europe cooperates with the International Fur Dressers’ and Dyers to develop a sustainability reporting for the Dressers and Dyers in Europe, which is expected to be published in December 2015.

The public opinion of fur farming in Europe

Report - March 13, 2015 - The welfare provided for the animals whilst alive is more important than the ultimate end-use of the animals. This is one of the findings in a survey conducted by independent market research company Ipsos in 2013, on behalf of Fur Europe. Although a majority of Europeans say they find fur farming unacceptable, the survey clarifies that the more information Europeans have about fur and fur farming, the more acceptant they are towards fur.

Big, voluminous and wild – New York Fashion Week proposes lots of fur

News - February 27, 2015 - Next year’s winter/autumn collections are being highlighted at the trendsetting fashion runways these weeks. Fur industry representatives following the shows in New York predicts another season full of fur as they have observed an emerging trend of fox, wild fur and other voluminous fur types on the New York Runways. Interestingly, the New York collections pointed to a coming trend of full fur garments in fashion.
