The second edition of Fur Europe’s information event ‘This is Fur’ took place 29 September to 1 October. Representatives from the fur sector in 25 European countries flew in to Brussels to meet their national MEPs, commission representatives and other EU stakeholders.

The three day event hosted more than 150 meetings with the purpose to provide information about the fur sector in Europe and discuss current political issues. A similar event was held in January 2014.

“Once again, we were well received in the European Parliament. The European fur sector gets a lot of respect for being pro-active and transparent in the political arena. Contacts have been made, information and ideas have been exchanged. We are very happy with the way things turned out,” says Head of Public Affairs at Fur Europe, Mette Lykke Nielsen.

The event presented a range of debates and presentations discussing subjects like consumer transparency, skills and craftsmanship in Europe, and the environmental performance of fur products.

This is Fur 2015 was hosted by Finnish MEP Nils Torvalds (ALDE).
